About Us

I am a mother of 2 synchronized swimmers. Having been active in synchronized swimming for 7 years now I know three things to be true:

1. Synchronized swimming is a misunderstood sport. Synchronized swimmers are so precise in their movements above the water that the difficulty and effort below the water is often lost to the untrained eye

2.Fundraising is both challenging and difficult for synchronized swimming clubs.

3.There are few items available to be given as gifts to synchronized swimmers, coaches, judges and patrons that truly depict their sport.

In an effort to overcome these issues I personally commissioned a painting to be done on behalf of all synchronized swimmers. The painting is designed to train the untrained eye, provide an opportunity for fundraising, and give our swimmers a gift that they can cherish the rest of their lives. I searched across North America for a qualified artist and was fortunate enough to be able to work with my first choice Hanne Lore Koehler. “Lori” is a world renowned artist known for her variety of works including the “Tour De France”. She has a distinct way of capturing movement in her work that captivated me. Lori was thrilled to take on the challenge of creating an above / under water portrait of synchronized swimming and while painting she became a true believer in the sport!

The painting depicts a team of girls working together to perfect a highlight prior to competition. It demonstrates the power, athleticism, and team work needed below the water to create the grace and beauty we all enjoy above the water. It is my personal hope that when each swimmer looks at this painting they can see themselves in this portrait.

The In Sync Fundraising Project is a true “non profit” venture. All administrative costs are covered by a great group of volunteers who believe in the sport like you and I do. 100% of the funds are going back to synchronized swimming so enjoy!
